Curling Coaching
Hamilton Ice Rink offers a variety of coaching and practice opportunities
supported by an experienced and enthusiastic team of volunteer coaches
Junior Coaching
Our junior coaching program takes place on Saturday mornings
from 8.30am to 11.30am
This is open to curlers up to the age of 21. All abilities
are welcome whether you are new to the sport or competing at national level.
Junior coaching is on every Saturday until the end of
March 2026 except for the following:
1 November, 15 November, 27 December, 10 January
Try Curling
If you have never curled before and are looking for a taster
session, then our Come & Try events are for you.
Supported by qualified coaches, these sessions are held at
12.15 on Sundays throughout the season and you should contact the ice rink for
details either by phone (01698-282448) or by email at info@lanarkshireice.co.uk
Become A Curler
For those interested in taking up curling, our Become A
Curler program will be of interest. This is run as 4 x 2 hour sessions which
cover all aspects of the game from basic rules and etiquette to delivery,
sweeping and tactics. By the end of the course, you will be ready to join a
club and play a meaningful part in games.
The next block is being held at 2.30pm on the following
Sunday afternoons:
19th October, 9th November, 16th
November & 23rd November

Improver Coaching
Improver coaching sessions are held on Thursday morning
between 10am and 12 noon.
These are drop-in sessions which do not require advanced
booking and our experienced coaches will be on hand to offer advice to curlers
of all standards.

Practice sessions can be arranged directly through the ice
rink either by phone (01698-282448) or by email at info@lanarkshireice.co.uk
Ice rink members also have the opportunity for free practice ice between 4pm and 5pm and you should contact the ice rink for availability.
